Three of our Year 5 pupils decided to raise money by holding a sale on the green. The girls raised £32 which they used to purchase items for the local food bank. Working together they selected long life items and added up the costs. What a lovely gesture from our pupils! pic.twitter.com/R91A3St8aN

Artsmark Gold Award

Valley Invicta Primary School at Holborough Lakes has been awarded a prestigious Artsmark Gold Award.

Artsmark is the only creative quality standard for schools and is accredited by Arts Council England.  It is awarded after a rigorous assessment process that ensures that arts, culture and creativity are embedded across the curriculum.

Comments from the Arts Council England included: “Despite the pandemic, you have maintained your clubs offer and managed to enhance the children's learning experiences with ceramic workshops and talent shows. They have taken part in internal and external events and competitions, from Young Voices to Music on the Hill festival, performed to live audiences and where this hasn't been possible live streamed and shared their creations with other year groups. It is wonderful that your staff joined in, creating their own music and dance video!

“Overall your recognition of the value of the Arts is powerful and you have laid strong foundations to develop the impact of the arts on children's learning and on their lives.”
