Community
At Valley Invicta Primary School at Holborough Lakes, we take pride in working with our local community. This plays an important role in developing the pupils citizenship and respect for others. We hope the information below will tell you a little bit more about some of the projects we have been involved in.
Christ Church
We work closely with Christ Church in Snodland and Reverend Danielle Pearson-Smith. Rev. Pearson-Smith has presented assemblies and the children take part every year in a carol service, Easter service and harvest festival, linked to the church. The church manages our Harvest Festival donations which go to those in need in the local area.
Pilgrims View Care Home
Some of our pupils visit the care home to interact with residents to promote respect and understanding of others. This is also a great opportunity to enrich the lives of everyone involved.
Snodland Town Council
We work collabortively with the local council to involve our school in local celebrations including the carnival, and we are hoping to participate in VE day celebrations this year.
Fundraising
Our children have raised considerable amounts of money for both Help for Heroes, Children In Need and Great Ormond Street Hospital. The whole school takes pride in raising funds for local, national and international charities.
Toy Collection
The school was involved in a toy collection, last year, for the Women's Refuge in Maidstone. We were blown away by the generosity of our children, parents and carers.
Remembrance Service
Every year, our children take part in a number of Remebrance day events, including assemblies, services and parades.
Mayor's Debate
Our Year 6 children are regularly asked to take part in the mayoral debates at the official chambers in Kings Hill. This is a great experience for our older pupils to develop their verbal skills and see the Mayor's Chambers first-hand.
