Year 6 residential
Last week, Year 6 went to the Isle of Wight on their residential. For some of us it was the first time we had been on a ferry. When we arrived, we immediately did a zip line! Kaelan got stuck and had to be rescued by Mr Farrington.
We went to the beah one day; we made sandcastles and went rock pooling where we found fossils, crabs, snails and shrimp.
We had to do the 'leap of faith' - this was scary because we had to climb up to a high ledge and then jump off, trying to hit a ball that was hangin above us. The scariest bit was looking down!
We also did Jakob's ladder which meant that we had to work as a team to climba huge ladder that moved the higher that you got up!
Aero-ball was like playing basketball on a trampoline (Mrs Martin beat Max G 15-3!) - we were all very competitive!
We had a campfire one night where we toasted marshmallows, told stories and sang songs. Later on, we got a chance to make our own fires! We played bench ball and other games during the mini Olympics after dinner one evening.
One day we tried archery with limited success. We also tried fencing which was a good chance to get out our frustrations.
The food was very tasty althoughr there weren't many vegetables, much to our delight!
We all had a brilliant tie and the staff made sure we were having fun.
