Book Week fun!
Our 2022 Book Week was a huge celebration of books and reading it was enjoyed by everyone involved.
We launched the event with a Big Assembly where we generated excitement for the week ahead. The children signed up to The Big Read and learnt how to enter the Book Review Competition.
On Tuesday, staff and children wore their pyjamas to raise money for books. Our. Wednesday Big Read was a blast! The children signed up to hear a book read
without knowing who was going to read it. All the adults involved loved reading to their group and this is something we will continue to do! In the afternoon, many of our wonderful families joined us for The Big Book Share It was a wonderful occasion the school was full of happy, engaged families, absorbed in books World Book Day was a riot of colour and fun! Uniforms were left at home as everyone made the effort to dress as brilliant book characters. In assembly, we watched the fantastic winning entries to the Book Review Competition, the winners of which chose a book as a prize.
A highlight of the week was when we delivered poems to families on our estate our Poetry Drop. This was gratefully received by residents many emailed the school to relay their thanks and delight having read and enjoyed their poems.
We hosted a Scholastic Book Fair every day after school and raised over £800. Thank you to everyone who came along and bought a book. Because of you we have raised over £700 to spend on books for our children through our book fair sales and your book
week donations, thank you!
