Three of our Year 5 pupils decided to raise money by holding a sale on the green. The girls raised £32 which they used to purchase items for the local food bank. Working together they selected long life items and added up the costs. What a lovely gesture from our pupils! pic.twitter.com/R91A3St8aN

Bikeability

Last week, a number of Year 5 pupils participated in Bikeability.

Rohan and Zack thoroughly enjoyed the experience and described it as “really exciting”.

Below they have described some of the key skills they learnt during the experience to ensure that they could ride a bike safely on the road:

“We learnt how to get on and off pavements safely, as well as go pass junctions safely. Also, I know that there are two different positions. You use the primary position at junctions, which is just before the lines in the middle of the road. The second position is where you are riding normally, so by the yellow line.”

Zack said: “I feel more confident riding on the road and know how to keep myself and others safe.”
