Three of our Year 5 pupils decided to raise money by holding a sale on the green. The girls raised £32 which they used to purchase items for the local food bank. Working together they selected long life items and added up the costs. What a lovely gesture from our pupils! pic.twitter.com/R91A3St8aN

Refuge donations

We are running a charity event as we believe strongly that ‘every child should have a Happy Christmas.’ Article 31 of the UN convention for children’s rights, states that every child has the right to relax, play and join in a wide range of leisure activities”. 

Unfortunately, this is not the case for all children. Therefore we would like to ask for any new or very nearly new donations of toys, games, teddies or something else that a child would welcome this Christmas.

We ask that all donations are in excellent condition as these will be Christmas presents for children spending Christmas in refuge. We also will also be accepting donations of toiletries for the women. These will be delivered to the Women’s Refuge in Maidstone and distributed to children who have fled their homes and have had to leave their belongings behind them.

If you are able to contribute, please bring in donations on Monday 14th December. I will then deliver these to Leybourne Church, where they will be taken to the Women's Refuge. We have supported this cause in the past and we know it will make a big difference to a child this Christmas.
