Recovery Curriculum
We have been looking about what our curriculum might look like for children when they return to school in September. Therefore, we will be implementing, for a period of time, a “recovery curriculum.” This will acknowledge that for some children, there will have been a potential loss to their knowledge and skills, previously gained. Some children will also have experienced mental health difficulties, isolation, anxiety and potential trauma.
Children will perhaps have experienced these aspects all at once and in a sudden and unplanned fashion; this can leave children feeling vulnerable. Alternatively, there will be some children who have thrived on the challenges of home learning and will need very little support when returning to school.
So, please feel reassured, that we will be making adaptions to our curriculum to ensure the children overcome any potential barriers and continue to flourish as they did before lockdown.
