Coming together
Can you believe 250,000 people have signed up in a single day to volunteer with the NHS after a recruitment drive to help the vulnerable amid the coronavirus crisis? This is truly testament to our nation's values and how we are continuing to come together. Whilst I sit here in my study, I observe the many rainbows littering people’s windows, spreading the word that there is still hope. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-51988671)
Our teachers have continued to be overwhelmed with the wonderful posts that the children have been sharing on their Class Dojo page. Parents have set up classrooms in weird and wonderful places around their home, including sheds and dining rooms.
Yesterday, the Brooks family had a creative day, decorating their names and mum has now turned teacher! For many parents, I hope you are able to sympathise with our hardworking staff as this situation gives us all an insight into a day in the life of a teacher!
Also, teachers and their pets are finding it hard to adjust; Miss Daniels' rabbit Joey is very confused as to why she's at home! Elias is also welcoming being at home with his beloved pet rabbit.
My final words for the day are: keep well, keep safe and remember that ‘sometimes we are tested not to show our weakness but to discover our strengths.’
