Three of our Year 5 pupils decided to raise money by holding a sale on the green. The girls raised £32 which they used to purchase items for the local food bank. Working together they selected long life items and added up the costs. What a lovely gesture from our pupils! pic.twitter.com/R91A3St8aN

Victorian Day

Last term, Alpaca and Tiger Class enjoyed a Victorian day in school.

The children in Alpaca class had an amazing day learning about what life was like for children during Victorian times. Their day in school consisted of chanting, reciting and writing lines; very different from their usual experience of school today. They played traditional Victorian games at playtime and each enjoyed making a 'Dunce' hat, wooden peg soldiers and Victoria sponge cupcakes..

They also learnt about L.S Lowry, who was a famous Victorian artist. Tiger Class had a fantastic day, imagining that they were Victorian children. They started the morning listening to the national anthem, chanting times tables and completing their lessons on a chalkboard whilst having a big focus on their handwriting.
