World Book Day Celebrations
For World Book Day, the children assembled in the hall for a fantastic costume parade and prizes were given for the most ingenious outfits.
The Early Years teaching team won for being ‘aliens in underpants!’
Children took part in many book and story activities throughout the day, one of which was to write why they loved reading in 20 words or less.
This work will be celebrated and displayed around the school and here are some lovely examples:
“I love books because they are fun and they make me happy when my mummy reads to me.” April, Reception Class.
“I like reading because it inspires me so much. I Like reading because it makes me have good dreams.” Evie, Year 1.
“I love reading because you can choose a book and read it when or wherever you want.” Samuel, Year 3.
Families were invited into the classroom at the end of the day to read with their children . There was a lovey atmosphere across the school and we hope this has inspired families to read even more at home with their children.
